Unit 2 Journey on Relaxation Exercise

Journey on Relaxation Exercise

The Journey on Relaxation exercise is very relaxing and soothing to listen to. The music and the instructor’s voice in this exercise are very calming and relaxing. The autogenic training technique, where you can actually suggest how your body feels, can really help you to relax. I wasn’t sure if this was going to work but after putting my headphones on and sitting in a quiet place, this exercise really helped me to relax. I could feel my muscles relaxing and my mind begin to let go of my troubles of the day. Once the exercise was over I felt like my mind was in a better place and my body was not as tense. The stress just seems to go away. I would use this exercise again to help me to relax. Just by thinking that you are relaxed can increase the blood flow to those areas. I feel that this exercise would be great to listen to after a long day at work, or just a stressful day in general. The mind is a powerful tool that we can use to help heal and keep our bodies healthy.

  1. Hello Jennifer:
Great blog. I have to agree with you the mind is a powerful tool. I wonder how many other people know that? I too felt relaxed and could feel my muscle relaxing as I did this exercise. Do think the music and the instructor's voice played an important role in the relaxation technique? Is this a technique you would recommend to someone else?

    1. Hello Jennifer and Roxanne,
Jennifer, I enjoyed reading your experience, and I love the colors and design you chose for your blog!
Roxanne, your comment about wondering how many people realize what a powerful tool the mind is got me thinking about the tension. The old saying about walking into a room and being able to "cut the tension with a knife"is well known. Maybe the power of the mind to create positive change needs to be propagated with catch phrase, too.
      Thanks, Misti

  2. Thank you Roxanne and Misti for your comments. Roxanne, I don't think that people realize how powerful the mind really is. I think that sometimes when people only think negative thoughts because negative things keep happening to them, that maybe if they thought more positive thoughts that positive things would happen. I do think that, for me, the music and the tone that the instructor used helped me to feel relaxed. I would recommend this to someone else, although this may not make everyone feel relaxed.

  3. Hell Jennifer

I always have a hard time with relaxation tools like this one. I can't seem to let go of my mind. I know I need to learn to. I just can't seem to let my mind just go, I am always thinking of what I should be doing, working on homework or house work is usually what is going trough my mind. I think relaxing the mind is very important and I need to just let these things work, but easier said then done.
